3i HoME Caring Communities™ is our new mixed-income, person-center neighborhood model.

We are currently in the pre-development stage of our first 3i HoME Caring Communities™ of approximately 40 homes to be located in western Maine.  Additional updates will be provided in the coming months.

3i HoME Caring Communities™ Solutions

01

Tackles multiple issues impacting families in rural towns

Our goal is to create neighborhoods with several housing options affordable to individuals and families at various income levels. Among the options being considered are incorporating ADUs on certain lots and  envisions promoting individual home ownership opportunities to essential direct care professionals and others in the healthcare sector.

02

Maintaining quality of life for residents

Each 3i HoME Caring Community™ will have individual cottage-style homes utilizingprinciples of universal design to enable residents to age in place independently, while also building a social community for residents to thrive. These homes are not “support housing”. They are traditional homes enhanced with smart technologies that promote independence.

“We envision 3i HoME Caring Communities™ to be mixed income housing specifically designed to flex with the needs of the residents.  Because life is not static, a house should be designed so as to meet the needs of the homeowner. for essential workers. Through shared common spaces such as gardens, a common gathering space, and shared outdoor spaces, each community would support socialization and connection of residents to allow them to not only live but thrive at home.”
